This 6 day Kidepo Valley safari offers one of Uganda’s most remote and authentic wilderness experiences, combining exceptional wildlife viewing with a rare cultural encounter among the Ik people who live in the remote Morungole Mountains. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and Transfer to Lodge

Your safari begins upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport where you are welcomed by your professional driver guide from Enshama Safaris and transferred to your lodge in Entebbe or Kampala, allowing time to relax after your journey while preparing for the adventure to Uganda’s most remote national park.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After an early breakfast you begin your journey north towards Kidepo Valley National Park passing through changing landscapes from central Uganda to the remote Karamoja region, enjoying scenic views and cultural encounters along the way with a lunch stop en route before arriving in the evening and checking in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive in Narus Valley

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Narus Valley, the most wildlife rich area of Kidepo, where you may encounter large herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, and predators such as lions and possibly cheetahs, followed by a return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before heading out for an afternoon game drive to explore more of the park’s diverse landscapes and wildlife.

Day 4: Ik Cultural Experience in Morungole Mountains

After an early breakfast you drive towards the Morungole Mountains and begin a guided hike to visit the Ik community, one of Uganda’s most unique and isolated tribes, where you will engage with locals, learn about their traditional way of life, survival practices, and cultural heritage while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding valleys before descending and returning to your lodge for rest and overnight.

Day 5: Kidepo Valley Exploration and Relaxation

Spend the day exploring more of Kidepo Valley National Park with optional activities such as a game drive towards the Kidepo Valley itself, known for its rugged beauty and seasonal riverbeds, or a guided nature walk to appreciate the smaller details of the ecosystem, followed by time to relax at the lodge and enjoy the peaceful wilderness atmosphere.

Day 6: Return to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast you begin your return journey back to Kampala or Entebbe with a lunch stop along the way, arriving later in the day with drop off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport depending on your travel plans.
