Helpful Travel Tips

  • Best travel seasons are dry months (June–August, December–February) for trekking and wildlife; wet months (March–May, September–November) offer lush scenery and fewer tourists.

  • Pack sturdy hiking boots, lightweight rain jacket, insect repellent, long sleeves for forest walks, reusable water bottle, and non-flash camera with extra batteries.

  • Carry your yellow fever vaccination certificate, required for entry.

  • Gorilla and chimp tracking require moderate physical fitness.

  • Carry some local currency for tips and small purchases.
